Nesting Chairs Rev 1.0

I’ve been looking around for a type of chair that would store easily out at my property (http://2daystalk.com/our-cabin-project/) and not take up too much room. My friend from work showed me a set of nesting chairs he had that seemed to fit the bill. After looking over his chairs for a while I decided to build a set similar so I went to work and sketched them out then built a test chair in the workshop.

I discovered a potential design flaw once I started putting the plans together, but I was far enough along in the plan creation process that I decided to go ahead and build a test chair…this is how it turned out.

The only flaw really was the front legs were too far back. I figured it would tip forward if you sat toward the end of the chair…but I didn’t know how bad. Stay tuned for Rev 2.0 rocking chair version…it is designed, but not built yet.
