    Hi,
We made a corn hole set and want to stain it two-tone like the one in your picture. How did you keep the stain from bleeding into the lighter colored part?
I’ve already taped and stained one of the boards and it bled. :-/
    Thanks!

The darker portion is actually paint on my board. You may be able to get the look you want by using something called polyshade though.

What twine did you use that wont stretch so that the length is accurate? My son made a set of boards and used a chain with a dog leash catch on each end and an eye bolt on the non-leg end of each board which works okay but I think it’s a little cumbersome because it can kink and tangle and you need a bucket to carry and store it and the bean bags.

The twin I used did stretch a little. Not really sure what the best answer to that would be.

I was wondering how the thread type fishing line would work? Has anyone tried that?

What type of finish did you use? Would you briefly explain the process?

    1. Brad says:

I know a lot of people get all technical, and there is probably a science to what finish should be used for cornhole boards. I just used polycrylic (water based polyurethane). Three coats and a light sanding in between each coat.
